Tips
Visit our canal guide for information about interesting places that you will see during your trip, and for the history of Malmö’s canals.
If you need multiple boats, make sure to book in time – especially during the weeks just before and after the summer holidays.
If you are planning an event during which you want to show the city to a large number of guests, consider booking our Malmö Quiz Tour package: a fun and informative way to see the city.
A map is included aboard every boat.
In case your crew needs to make a necessary pit stop, there are several places along the canal where you can moor the boat and visit a public toilet. Check the onboard map, or find them marked on the interactive map.
Just like in road traffic, boats keep on the right-hand side of the canal.
Food & drinks
There are several places close to our jetty and along your trip where you can get some tasty food and drinks.
- The food hall, Saluhallen, offers a plethora of tastes. Everything from delicious cinnamon buns to falafel and burgers are tasty and easy to bring along.
- The café at the castle gardens, Slottsträdgårdens Kafé, is easy just a few meters away when you moor the boat at the dock in the middle of the park.
- At Södertull you can easily moor and pick up some food from the several cafés and restaurants that are located there.

Slottsparken
The Castle’s Park is one of the main reasons Malmö is also dubbed “The City of Parks”. And there is no better way to experience it than from the canal. When you reach the jetty at the T-section, Slottsträdgårdens brygga, don’t immediately turn left but go straight past the iconic Castle Mill – but mind your head when you drive underneath the trees. The waters become shallow after the canoe club, so make sure to turn around there before you get stuck!

Malmöhus Slott
Malmös castle is the oldest preserved renaissance castle in the Nordics. Make sure to see it from the North side to get a good view of the castle facade. Note how the other side of the canal is slowly being transformed into a new lively area with apartments and office buildings. Turn around once you get to the characteristic fishing cottages, Fiskehoddorna.
-
Wharf bassin
This area may not be comparable to the park or castle in its beauty, but this is the fascinating epicenter of Malmö’s transformation of an industrial harbour town into a hotspot for the digital service sector. Where once mighty ocean steamers and military submarines where built is now a breeding ground for startups, IT service providers and the gaming industry. See how the city embraces the future by slowly exchanging old shipyard buildings to new housing, university and office buildings where future Malmöites will work and live.
