We are the first self-service electric boat rental in the Nordics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Who doesn’t like spending a wonderful day in the sun and hanging out with family, friends or colleagues? Maybe with a picnic and something nice to drink? Perhaps near the water as an adventure or as a moment of relaxation? And if so, do it in an environmentally friendly electric boat, with a completely silent engine? Without hassle, without sails to reef, without smelly exhaust fumes?  That was exactly what we had in mind when we founded BookaBoat back in 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our vision is to enable people to socialize and create enjoyable moments and memories. We do this by providing elegant self-serviced electric boats on Malm\u00f6”s canals. Simple, flexible, spontaneous. Our ambition is for this service to be available to as many people as possible, and to give everyone the opportunity to create their own new wonderful memories. We believe we are on the right track. Tens of thousands of people have traveled in our boats, including several marriage proposals on board (all said yes!), as well as several brides and grooms who have used our elegant boats to make their big day even a little more memorable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green and clean<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our boats are 100% electric and the electricity is 100% produced from wind power. By using our boats you help to keep emissions down in our city and also to minimize disturbing noise. Our floating dock is also designed with the environment in mind. Conventional floating docks use concrete boxes filled with polystyrene. Unfortunately, these degrade over time, pollute the water and are difficult to recycle. Our floating dock is therefore based on plastic tanks (polyethylene) filled with air. These have a very long lifetime and even if one day they need to be discarded, the polyethylene is easily recyclable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For a vibrant Malm\u00f6<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We love Malm\u00f6 and would like to contribute to a pleasant and vibrant urban environment. The city has something unique in its navigable canal system, which is the longest in Sweden, while people do not usually think of Malm\u00f6 as a canal city. What opportunities could be developed based on the canal that could enrich the city center for the benefit and pleasure of those of us who live here? With BookaBoat, we want to combine Malm\u00f6’s rich maritime history with the city’s contemporary character as a hotspot for digital service development. And we hope to create greater awareness of the incredible potential that exists if we see the canals as an asset for the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The people behind the company<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The founders of BookaBoat are Ren\u00e9 Nordstrand Heunen and Gustav Widerstr\u00f6m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ren\u00e9 has his origin in the Netherlands, moved to Malm\u00f6 in 2012 and has spent a large part of his working life combining IT, sustainable transportation and energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gustav is born and raised in Malm\u00f6. He is a true board game nerd and entrepreneur with innovation running through his veins. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We both like to make things happen and contribute to the community and our local neighborhood. If you have a great idea involving our boats or Malm\u00f6’s canals, don’t hesitate to contact us. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
